Default My new setup :)

Well I'm not a audio guy at all. I know nothing but I knew what my budget was and I wasn't going to go crazy ($3000) and etc for audio. I just want some good bump and loud music unlike the stock radio..

So I bought a Dual DVD player, 400 Watt alpine amp and wiring, still looking to get a Z encloser box with 2 tens

My question is... Is there anything else I should of picked up?

Did the wire kit come with a fuse? If not you will need one of those.

To the OP, if you are getting components for the front i would suggest getting kick pods for the doors. Not only do they broaden the different brands of speakers that will fit 100 fold, they will also make whatever speaker you do go with sound so much better.

Unless I am not seeing it, you didn't mention speakers......are you going to replace the front speakers?

I didn't plan on changing the door speakers. Should I? I think they sound decent . Just need more power and more bump from the sub.

unless you have the bose setup (which still is pretty poor) i would seriously suggest changing out the door speakers also, even with some like cheapo $50 speakers. If you actually take out the stock speaker and look at it...it's like construction paper and hot glue.

Nor does the original poster or probably 99% of the people that see this thread. Unless he states reasons, etc for his post, it is just a useless post.

P.S. Let's try to keep this on topic.

+1 The front speakers may sound decent with the OEM headunit but, add a aftermarket one and you'll beging to see their sort comings.

I can't really recommend what speakers to get but, if you are not going to get door pods I would recommend you pick up this spacer, you'll need it.

I installed my fronts with just the spacer but, I really think that the OEM grill is muffling too much of the sound. I am going to pick up some pods in the near future and see if it improves the sound. (I'm sure it will tho)

Regardless of his lack of reasons for his statement, his statement is 100% spot on. A Dual brand unit is the last headunit I would put in a vehicle. You will be lucky if it lasts a year without any issues. I would take that back and save some dough and pick up a Pioneer Avic-D3.
