Default Best components for $100 or so? And which amp?

I just wanna grab a good, cheap ($100) set of components, hook em up to a good amp and be off with it. I need 6 1/2's for fronts, right? I was thinking of these ones, how are they?

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Polk-Audio-D...QQcmdZViewItem

Or whatever is good. Also, which amp? I don't really wanna spend a lot of money - I think the stock BOSE's sound "ok" with my Pioneer P80MP and I'm only gonna have the car for another year or so. My stocks are dying though, so they have to go. So what should I get?

Default Infinity Ref

For a 100 bucks or so I would get some Infinity References, they are a pretty good component and they will fit in the stock door space. some people might disagree witht the quality of them, but all the ones ive heard sound pretty good. They will sound a lot better with some pods, or atleast if you cut out the plastic in the grill blocking half of the speaker. Lots of people mount the tweeters in the Apillar, so its not blasting in your ear (stock location). I think for a hundred bucks you'd be happy with those speakers. Any 200 wat amp would be plenty for those speakers, stick with the know brand. I like MTX and JL, but there are good cheaper ones out there.

If you come across any extra cash get the Focal components.

The Polk bd's aren't too bad. They are along the same price bracket as Infinity Reference speakers. They have slightly different timbres though, and listening to each set would be ideal for you to decide which sound you like better.

Out of the Polk or Infinity, I would take the Polk, but that's because I feel the Infinity's color the sound too much until you get into the Perfect line of speakers. I've heard the db's and they were very neutral. I think Polk made the right move going with the silk dome tweet rather than the metal composite domes they used to use.

Infinity is good for $100. The highs are just to harsh like everyone else said. Putting them on the lower setting, the -db or whatever, it is still pretty harsh.

You pretty much get what you pay for. I personally wouldn't be happy cheaping out on $100 components...
