Anyone have a V1 ?
Do a search guys. There have been DOZENS of threads devoted to these exact questions.
I have one and it is the BEST detector out there. The only one that can come close is the 8500 and I still think the V-1 has advantages over it.
It is easy to hardwire. You can go into the mirror for power or you can do what I did and run the wire across the headliner, down the drivers side A pillar, and into the fuse box. I used the cig. lighter fuse. No visible wires.

just returned from an 2000 mile roundtrip and the V1 saved me at least 5 times for sure.
as long as there was a car somewhere out in front of me (even over one mile ahead) I had no worries.
cops would come along and instant zap the guy infront (twice they were over a mile ahead) the V1 would pretty much be pegged for about 2-3 seconds and then would go off. I would slow down and wait for 5-0 to show. A couple of times it took upwards of 45-60 seconds to have him pass me!
So all in all - if your gonna get a radar - get the V1!
