Weak radio signal FM AM ?

Weak radio signal FM AM ?
After installing a new headunit has anyone wlse had a weaker than stock radio signal? I was just wondering if this was common or not. BTW the unit was a Avic - Z1

You have to hook up the blue "power antenna" wire from the headunit to the adapter harness. Even though the Z does not have a power retracting antenna it DOES have a powered signal booster that gets it's 12v signal from the power antenna lead.
