Going to run the cable through the dash within a week or two.

Use the one under your cup holder, mount it on top of your dividing partition and use the rear one, or hardwire it and latch it onto your rearview.

Best bet is to hardwire it.

I have an 03 as well. I have mine wired into my rearview mirror and attached to the stock of the mirror with a specially designed bracket.. The wires are almost invisible and it almost looks like it's part of the mirror. Just do a search on "radar detector" and you'll find all the parts you need to do this on here. It's like 40 bucks I believe.

If you don't have the homelink mirror, then you can't hardwire it to the mirror. I hardwired mine to the fuse box, real simple... like 10 minutes max. PM me if you want more details.

I ran a wire under the dash and put a cig lighter end of it so i didn't have to mangle the end of the radar. I also have it placed on the bottom of the a-pillar. looks good and clean and works great.

The radar detector itself needs to go high in the front window. If you've added tint to the windows you'll have to make sure that they're not metallic based as that's a double whammy. The same metal partials which will block your radar detector's view of the world will increase the reflectiveness of your car to the po-po's radar beam.

Hardwiring is just dead nutz simple.

BTW: V1 and be done.

Return it and get your money back... the solo 2 is horrible.

I let mine sit right on top of the 3 gauges, and i ran the wire behind/under the airvent that blow the front winshield. YOu dont see any wires at all hanging out. I'll do a write-up and have pictures later.

I placed my radar on windshield like everyone else, but what i did was ran the wire beneath the dashboard (how to take it apart step-by-step is here http://liljerk.morpheus.net/350Z/dash_removal/), and just snip the wire like 3-5 inches from the cigarett plug, so its easier to run the wire. I will post up pics later.

All you can see is a small 2 or so inches or the wire coming out from the airvent below the winshield when the radar is unplugged.

Z_oulater,
I make mounts that clamp to the mirror mounting shaft. Most people use the Invisicord and tap into the mirror power. I have mounts for the V1, Escort and Bel detectors. I have sold hunderds to forum members. PM me for details. Enclosed are a couple install pictures.
