I have the Alpine Type R components and I can't seem to get any kind of mids out of them what-so-ever, so I'm thinking of buying an external EQ. What do you guys think? Is anyone on here running one and found that it solved their problem?

i use to have one from audiobahn and it did make a difference when tuning the sound of the speakers

 

was it passive or active?
