Default Adding steering wheen audio controls to a base model

I have been searching to see if this is possible and have not seen anyone that has added this to a base model. I know that there is wiring at the back of the radio for what appears to be the audio controls, but has anybody added the steering wheel buttons to a base model?

I think that part number 25550-CF40A is what will be needed.

My local delaer is listing this as $58. not too unreasonable to add this I think. The only thing that I have to check is if there are any plugs/wiring in the steering wheel that may accept the steering wheel radio assembly.

Has anybody added this? can anybody confirm the part number?

Thanks!

Edit... 25550-CF40A is on order. Will update if it contains the cruize control and audio buttons.

i have done it.. though my car is not a base model, it was the track but had to steering wheel controls. i dont remember the part number but it was one number for both sides they come as a set so you will have to replace the cruise as well.. there is no pre existing wiring for them in the car so you will have to add pins to the steering wheel side for the controls to attach to. im not sure that it can be done with the factory radio i have an after market deck so i used a peripheral interface to hook it up.. all in all it was fairly easy if you are electronically inclined.. i know there is a how to on it somewhere on this site because that is what i used to do mine.. ill look and see if i can find a link for you.. good luck

Thumbs up

thanks alot for the suggestion. I found the thread

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....wheel+controls

post #90 confirms that this part is what I need for my 06, it seems to just plug in. (audio controls at least, not the cruise...)

Im going to order this and will confirm if it works for me.

Thanks!

it would make sense for yours to have the wiring pre existing, mine didnt because its an 03 and steering wheel controls were not available as an option until 06.. you may get lucky..
