Default Installing sub behind seat

Can I just buy a sub with this cover for the install?

Can I do it in my stock 07 base?

Can I install one 10 instead of a 12?

To answer your questions just as you asked them........

Can I just buy a sub with this cover for the install? Yes

Can I do it in my stock 07 base? Yes

Can I install one 10 instead of a 12? a 12" won't fit

Now ask if it will sound good

If you are dead set on a behind the seat sub I would look into the roadster box by wicked c.a.s. username "nazar" on these forums. I believe the tradeoff is that you can only use a shallow 10 inch sub at most with that setup.

Anything else would have to be custom fabricated to sound decent in that location, especially a 12". I would advise a different sub location perhaps in the corner of the rear hatch if you are looking to save space. Its been discussed several times on these forums, but acoustically, behind the seat is not the optimum location to place a sub.

what about a "free air" sub? -- never tried one, wondering how they sound...
