Default US Amps opinions

I ordered a pair of amps for my new install and after ordering I was notified my amps were now on backorder. I was offered US Amps XT1600's as replacements. The XT's cost about $40 more than what I ordered and had good stats (THD=<.03%, S/N > 100db and the right amount of output 200x2 or 1100rms x1 @ 4ohm mono).

My questions are: anybody have experience with the XT1600? I'm going to use one on my highs (DA Hex)and one on my 10" subs (RF HE2). I've got a 2 farad cap. You think I'll have battery and/or alternator problems with two of these amps?

Gracias.

I think Doug is running US amps. At least I know he is more informed about them than I am. He is very helpful he will probably respond to this thread early in the morning.

I used to run US amps before when I had my Honda, and I must say, they're a pretty decent amp for their price. I would say they're the Rotas of the amp world.

actually i ONLY run usamps...but the only amps I would run are the older US series amps as these were still hand made in florida before they got bought out (2005 i believe)....to call these teh ROTA of teh amp world is actually quite rediculous. The tube amps have won more SQ competitions back in the day then anything I can think of.

I have NO opinion regarding the new ones as I have never used them....but if u can get your hands on the USAmps 400x (100 wats rms at 4 ohms stereo) and a USAMPS 1000x (1000 watts rms at 4ohms mono) or if u need these values at 2ohms simply remove the X from the part number (the x stands for xterminator series that was a 4 ohm amp)
