Default Anyone build an actual floating amp rack?

Not floating as in buried into the floor and with plexiglass over top of it.
I mean actually look like its floating in the air with multiple levels?

Im going to be building one soon with the strut bar as the top level, and using two more amps as level 2 and level 1.
They will be held up using metal in the back of it, but that will be hidden if you look at it from the hatch. I might put a neon light under the amps too to bring a little "cool" factor.

Anyone seen it?
I got a pic kinda..

except.. lol. you wont see any of that stuff. just the amps floating.
and in a 350z.

But i was just wondering if anyone has done this because i have been searching and searching and I found nothing even close to this in a 350z.

Anything can be done with the right level of knowledge and investment. I have built several back in the day (obviously not in a Z). Metal working, wire loom, and zip ties are your best friends when it comes to floating amps. I offer you this advice: PLAN CAREFULLY

Yea thanks man.
I havent even built the rack yet but its going through my mind over and over trying to improve the design.

Im trying to fiqure out how to build the base of the rack so it stays still and can take hard corners without tipping over. (even tho i dont even race my car, just for safety)
I think im going to have to screw 4 base corner legs into the ground. wide base corners.

I would suggest making a new floor out of 3/4" mdf or better yet birch plywood and securing some angle iron to it and then build your floating brackets off of that. You can use the carpet in the hatch as your template to cut the new floor from. If you use the plywood (will hold screws better than mdf) i would seal it to keep it from absorbing moisture and possible warping.

Mine is a welded steel rack bolted directly to the car. I can find the build pics if you'd like. It's very strong and stable.

Just to be clear.....

I think we are talking about two different "Dom's". My installer and fabricator, Dom, is "Mr X" on this forum (although there are two Mr X's).

Mike you need to slap a warning sticker on the outside of your car!!! People should be warned! Everyone should enter at their own risk. Your system is INSANE my head is still pounding from that car ride on the freeway.
