Default Anyone have Garmin Nuvi 750

Any one here have this unit. Does this unit have a charge indicator at all? I've been charging the unit through the USB for 7 hrs and still going. I read the manual it says nothing about charge time whatsoever.
I wrote Garmin an email they told me 8 to 10 hrs per charge when battery is low??

I have the 660. I'd suggest using the AC charger, especially if this is your first charge.
That goes for just about any electronics that can also charge through USB. You don't get as good of a charge through USB.

The Unit did not come with an AC Charger only Car Charger and USB charger. Does your Nuvi 660 have a charge Indicator on it?
I just found it weird that the Garmin unit does'nt have a simple indicator telling you when its fully charged
This is my second time charging the unit

Yeah it does actually. It's the typical battery-like indicator with 4 segments. It comes up on the main screen (Where to?, View Map and Travel kit).
Does yours have a screen that looks like this? Screenshot from the 700 manual.

Upper right-hand corner by the time is the battery indicator.

The thing is though i've charged the unit for about 7 hrs longest so far and it does'nt have a indicator that say when the battery is fully charged.
Garmin says this unit does'nt have a "Fully Charge" indicator which sounds dumb to me.

I see the battery indicator i can charge it for an hour and i'm at 4 bars... But what i'm saying is This unit will never tell you when battery is fully charged.
Example.. MY Ipod touch i charge through my USB port and informs me when its fully charged..
The Nuvi on the other hand will charge for hours on end and will not tell you when its fully charged

Mine doesn't say fully charged either. I just go by the fact that the battery indicator is full. Lithium-ion batteries usually don't overcharge, so it's no big deal to leave it plugged in.
I'm kind of surprised that they didn't supply an AC charger with it. Kind of a pain if you have to leave your computer on to charge it for hours. Good luck with it. I really like mine. I drove from Southern Indiana all the way to the North Carolina coast last year without missing a beat.

That's probably a goodie that Apple threw in on the Touch. I just bought a classic 80GB and it doesn't tell me that I'm fully charged. At least I don't think so.
I'm not sure, but I think the Touch may be using a version of OSX like the iPhone. This would enable them to throw in all kinds of bells and whistles.

Yeah i was surprised to no AC charger provided. Charging it in the car is a pain in the *** with the wires running all over. I've only used the USB port in my computer. But thats what i was trying to figure out. I think Garmin ****ing stupid for $600 for a unit they can put a Damn Charge indicator lol..
I thought that i was going to over charger and probably shorten the battery life....... The unit is amazing though very clear and map is pin point on track . Its better than my Eclipse 5435 i have in my Lexus

I dont get how the 80GB don have the function either. When charging IPOD the battery indictor turns into a picture of a plug when fully charged. Check it out next time you charge it.
Yeah now my next MOD is to get an IPOD adapter hooked up in the Z

Doh. You're right. It never clicked. I just got it a couple days ago.
I've got an adapter in mine and I may get a different one. I found one yesterday that is supposed to display text on the stock BOSE unit.

Here's the link to the adapter that I have. I actually ordered mine under a different company name, but when I got it, I found that it was the USA-spec unit.

This is the one that I have:

Here's what I might try out:

Thanks man i always wanted to do an I POD adaptor as such but was always weary about opening up my dash. I did a full sound system in my Lexus Navi, speakes, Subs amps the works and my front dash rattles and shakes like a ***** in the winter time. I was afraid to screw with my new Z.. I'm still trying to decide whether or not to do it. I hate rattles with a passion

This was the first time that I ever busted into a dash and it really wasn't too bad. Here's a real good how-to. It's better than the one that I used.

When you do step 12, it pops like a monster, so don't freak!
