I got the software done, now I have to start testing it - it will probably take a few days to get through it all.

The module started my car today all by itself! The software still has a few bugs in it to work out, but it's progressing!

Here is a video of it in action:

http://www.kptechnologies.com/movies/KPtechPBStart.mp4

Note that the key is in the ignition and switched to the "ON" position already

It will take a few more days to get it working perfectly. It is having some cold start issues, but I should be able to smooth that out pretty easily, it will just take some time.

No big updates as of right now. Yesterday the module in my test car quit working and I haven't had a chance to fix it. I know it has nothing to do with the module as I tested it outside of the car. I think there is a wiring issue.

I have the software 99% done and debugged now. Hopefully this weekend I can get the new version installed in my G35 and post some videos.

Here's the latest video:

<object width="425" height="350"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-I6XAj0AQWA"> </param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-I6XAj0AQWA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> </embed> </object>

We have contacted our testers to start testing this "new" version. Hopefully it won't take long to test it all out.

Is there a purpose for a push button if you have to insert the key and turn it anyway? What are the benefits?

If it were like the new BMW's, where you don't have to do anything with a key except push the start button, I can see the benefits in that. But curious to know what the point is if you have to insert the key anyway.

Has this ever reached completion? I do not see any updates from KP.

Why not mod an Altima push start to fit in and re-key the ignition so no turing of the ignition is required?

Curious and sorry if this is dead.....

you know in BMW you still have to have the key fob in the ignition and hit the start button UNLESS you order the package for confort access which is it can stay in ur pocket. But that runs 500+ extra for that feature.

Testing takes time - I've got a lot going on right now and want to make sure everything is perfect before we get a bunch of these sold.

What exactly do you mean by "re-key the ignition"?

I have the beta unit and just got done modifying. I will send it back, and will send out the upgrade kits to the other testers. Once we get the feedback we will be on for production!

This thread here: https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-video/296176-first-look-kptechnologies-push-button-start.html would be better to watch for updates to the system, as that is the thread that has the testers in it.

Thank you!
