i will be on board when it is truly keyless.

Mazda used a flat remote that fits in your wallet combined with a permanent plastic key-like switch where the key normally goes. without the remote, turning the switch does nothing. with the remote, the switch starts the car like a regular key.

I was thinking of adding a signal booster on the car end of the transceiver to increase the range. I would then place the transponder in the door remote fob. this way, the transponder should be able to operate by simply being IN the car. the remainder of the key I would affix to the ignition and buy or make a cover similar to the Mazda switch to make the ignition look pretty. this way the remote can stay in my pocket while i drive.

I am not sure if the nissan would freak out if the signal was lost or diminished while the car was on. I also am unsure if I could boost the signal enough to do this.

If anyone has any expertise in this area or additional ideas, let me know.
