I dont know how to post photos here. I know there is a how to,,,,but I havent taken the time to figure it out, But anyway,,,just saw this and thought I would mention it here. You can goggle Alpine IVA W-505 and view the photos. I think it looks great. I read the release date suppose to be around February.

 

i played with it, very nice piece, nice improvement over the 205.

scolton,,,what was your overall opinion of the W505? I would think having the 7in screen over the 6.5 would be nice. Were you able to find out a release date or ballpark figure of what the asking price would be?

i liked it alot, considering i was not a huge fan of the w205. the new w505 is nice, the extra 1/2 inch makes a noticeable difference. the new user interface is what i was most impressed by. they also have the digital iPod cable found on the idax001. the new cable supports audio and video in one cable. they are going to go for $999.99 so 100 more then they w205 but it will be worth it. Alpine claims release date to be April 2008 but knowing Alpine i wouldn't hold my breath. i'd guess end of April maybe May would be more accurate. Only thing it loses from previous models is there is no longer Pulse Touch. but having played with it, i dont miss that portion at all.

 

Any info if Pioneer has a Z3 out with the new ipod interface and usb?

 

i saw they had the same stuff as last year. all they came out with was a new screen that does am, fm, iPod ad dvd. no navigation. but i didnt look close enough to see if it had a new interface, sorry

 

looks like im saving up for it i currently have the iva-w205

 

will be worth it
