Never seen anyone do it on a 350Z. I would think you're going to have a ***** of a time getting the cruise control wiring out of the steering wheel harness and successfully routed to a new location.

Don't let that stop you though, be the trailblazer! Good Luck.

PS - Oh, and don't forget to post a D-I-Y after you're done.

It doesnt sound to hard, at lest for me. All youd be doing is taking out the internals and buttons of the wheel and building a new location for it, then route new wire from the new location to the plug that plugs into the wheel spiral in the column.

Before you start, take a peace of cardboard about the size of the controls and tape it in different place. Then drive around and see if thats were you want it, if its easy to operate/use, then move the cardboard around to other locations, and repeat. You can get a feel for were you really want it, before you do the real work.

Well hellllllllllllllllllllllllllll... if we'd have known it was that easy, everyone would've done it already. I'm all amped up about it now! We'll be waiting on the how-to pics, you should be done before dinner this afternoon, right?

Lol Haha, not me im keeping mine right were they are. For some people it might not be easy, for me it would be I have looked at the connectors, plugs internals of the wheel, since im working on a couple paddle shifter design ideas, for the stock wheel.

Pfffffffffffft! Airbags are for sissies. Any real man would much rather take a cool Momo wheel to the teeth.

/thread

Obviously, I'm being facetious. Me thinks the OP intends to "remove, bypass or otherwise circumvent" a federally mandated supplemental vehicle restraint system. Let's just pray he never needs it.

4pt should be ok. I installed a 5pt in my car, but took part of it out. But been thinking about adding it back in.

I'm not feeling the 5th point if you know what I mean... I've sat in a couple buddy's 4pts and they felt really secure.

HEY GUYS I HAVE GREAT NEWS! I FIGURED OUT HOW TO RELOCATE THE CRUISE CONTROL FOR PEOPLE WITH AFTER MARKET STEERING WHEELS.

I took my steering wheel off today and opted for a quick release. I found the wires that connect to my cruise under the dash and hooked it up. Everything works great. I will be posting pics of this and where to splice in. I will also be posting pics of the relocation. I just need to figure out where I am going to put the dang thing.

More to follow, watch the DIY section for the info.
