Default Best buy installing speakers!

So I have an appoinment at best buy tomorrow for my front 2 alpine component speakers. I am running a 760 watts pioneer amplifier to it, and I am going to put a capacitor for the 760 watt amp do you know how much they charge to put in a capacitor? and how much they charge to mess with both my amps and subs to make it sound nice because I dont know nothing about it? thanks

I would HIGHLY recommend u take it to a professional audio store or do ur self. 90% of the people @ best buy are retards. Not saying u might not get lucky and get somneone really good but don't chance it.

I've had two audio systems put in my car at Best Buy (H/U's and sub/amps).. I felt they did a good job.. And if you get your car back and it's not right, they'll fix it..

Be sure they dont use sheet metal screws to secure down in the hatch area........there are many threads of people screwing into the hatch floor thinking they are okay and then puncturing into the gas tank.......

you get a gas smell in the Z and an check engine light due to pressure loss in the Z....

have fun..

I used to work at Best Buy, it's hit or miss. Some of them actually have decent guys, but for the most part I wouldn't take the risk.

I had my system put in at Best Buy. Got a fair deal and the guys did a good job. They fabricated three custom fiberglass pods as well as the full install. Now two of the guys own their own shop and have to charge much more for their work.

Bust Buy will have a much better return policy and gaurantee than any privately owned shop because the money for repairs is not coming out of individual owner's pockets.

So you can either listen to the guys who say dont do it but have no examples or reasons why not, or you can have Bust Buy do the install like I did. It's up to you.

is why we don't recommend you go to the big box stores to install your car stereo. that was just on the first page of search results for best buy car stereo into google.

BTW, there are this many angry clients for any one locally owned car stereo shop + I believe a small shop would be more likely to rip out a customer they do not know.

I agree with Robby, I like knowing my equipment is guaranteed to be install right or they will fix it.. they also offer extended warranties on amps & subs..

I think your taking more of a risk with the local audio shops..

By the way, a previous poster mentioned not to drill into the sheet metal in the hatch area.. I was planning to add a Basslink sub in the comparment right behind the drivers seat and was wondering if I'd be ok drilling on the bottom surface to mount the sub?

its not hard to find a reputable audio shop that won't screw you over (ESPECIALLY IN LA CSODeputy) Just as I wouldnt trust any body shop to paint my car i would find a reputable audio shop to install my equipment? Do you guys take your car to Maaco for paint? It comes with a guaranty!

Tweeters use to do decent work, but I believe they closed all their shops in CA. Ask people you know for referrals, some small shops are just as shady as big stores are incompetent.

Dont ever not go to a place just because of its name when it comes to stereo installs. See whos going to be working on your car and how long they have been working on car audio. Ive had a couple of local 350z's come to my circuit city to have me do their audio work and not 1 problem since. Yes, there are a couple of dumbass kids out there working for best buy or circuit city, but ide rather trust them than a local side shop that i dont know or pays out of pocket for damages. Install it yourself and damages come out of YOUR pocket. Dont install it if you have no clue about what your doing. Remember...installing a radio in a Ford Explorer(keys to remove) is different than installing it in a 350z
