Default Under 1,000?

I might get burned for this but...

Does anyone have any suggestions for a Nav/DVD/CD player that will fit a 2003 350z touring for under $1000? If so could you refer me to the site? Sonicelectronix.com is dope...I just don't want to buy something that wont fit my car. Help please.

There's also the slightest chance that the particular one he was looking at might have been too deep and that's why it's listed as not fitting. After I installed the AVIC-D3 in the 350Z I loved it so much I was going to put one in my '07 Suburban but Crutchfield lists it as not fitting, when I asked why the sales guy said it was too deep. Now, I don't know that for a fact because I never checked. I will eventually, I just haven't yet.

Anyway, it's a possibility. *shrugs*

Call them up and see if they have them in stock, the site may not be updated.

How about the Pioneer AVIC-D3 compared to Kenwood's DNX7100?

The D3 is around 620-650$ online, the Kenwood is ~875$. The Kenwood does have a larger screen amongst other things.

I see that as good and bad. Bigger screen is nice, but I like the easy-to-use buttons on the side of the AVIC-D3. I think the steering wheel control module is important on either, but I don't think buttons on the 7'' models would be that user friendly.

I know the DNX is rom-format, right? While the AVIC is DVD/HDD? So the DNX is better in that regards. What else does it do better?

Not too familiar with the Kenwood, but the AVIC isn't HDD based... I thought it was when I bought it, along with lots of other people(read fools )

Edit: You could also consider the avic-z2, it has the larger screen but has a different button config. It has the hdd for music, don't know if you can copy maps or other things to it. That goes for around 800 at some places online.
