Default FI Q 10 replacing my w6?

Hey guys after reading VO's threads and a few others about the praise and FI im thinking about replacing my w6 with one. Im thinking of doing a box similar to vo's in the floor with a 12 or just a understrut with the 10. My main question is if i have a 500/1 amp already jl then will it work good with the FI. Or to really make it sound good would i need to go with a bigger amp? if so what is a good one that i can get for about the same price or cheaper then a 500/1. Sorry for the newb questions but im thinking i want a little more bass then the w6 is gettin me and i dont know much about ohms amps etc. thanks.

Go for the Q, I have heard nothing but good things. The 500/1 should be plenty to get it going, but if you hook it up and its not to your liking I could recommend a few 1000 watt amps in a decent price range

his post was added after your question about what amp. so it's safe to say he was recommending you an amp choice which was ED.

Do the FI Q sub, you will NOT be disappointed.

Crossfire VR1000D - 1000 rms into 1ohm. get a dual 2ohm voice coil sub and wire in parallel to 1ohm.

the 500-1 does just under 600 rms

you'll be wanting 1000 rms

get a DVC 12" 2 ohm Q run at 1 ohm

what is your budget on amp

Ha ha, I brought the car to work last Friday since I was working only half day. One of my co-workers who is planning on building a small system in his SUV wanted to hear my sound system. He was intrigued because he saw the sub when UPS delivered it to my job. His reaction, "Godd Damn! That's way too much bass for me! Uh uh, I don't need that much shiat!"
He was freaking out because the entire hatch was actually lifting. I got a kick out his reaction...

Go for the USAmps MD1D like 350zspl recommended. I used to have an MD2D and it was the most solid amp I have ever owned an rumored to be very underrated.

PM flakko on caraudio.com/forum for the best deal with full manufacturer's warranty

I'm actually thinking about turning my amp down a notch. The lows are drowning out my mids/highs. I have the HU low setting to the far most negative setting (-6) and the remote db bass **** is at 0, but it's still drowning out my front stage....
