Default 7001 LCD...is this "normal" for it while playing?? (waves)

got the kenwood dvd and the 7001 finally in and playing and now noticed that there looks like there are small slight "waves" going through the picture!? This is going to be hard to describe b/c when I say "waves" thats they best way to describe it but I dont mean the actual picture is moving when playing. Its like they are in the back ground of the picture! It doesnt effect whats playing at all, its moe or less what I would describe as in the "background". They are not major or something that would really get on ones nerves but I would like to know if I might of got a bad connection somewhere casuing this?

Im assuming that if this is "normal" for the 7001 you guys that have them wil know what Im trying to describe / talking about. But if its not your most likely scratching your head / making an odd face like I am wondering whats up! LOL

Can you guys jump in here with some help, letting me know if you have the same, if somethings wrong etc!? Thanks for any help!!

there are a lot of LCD monitors that do that. Does the waviness increase with higher engine rpms? if so you have som ground noise somewhere in the circuit. does it still wave with the engine off? if so then it isnt ground noise and is the monitor.

This may take a little taking apart the car, Move the dash piece the monitor is mounted on, take a video cable direct from the dvd player and connect it to the input of the 7001. With the car NOT running try and see if it is still there, wiggle the rca cable and see if you notice any waving in the background. Like someone mentioned before it might be just a normal thing that you may have noticed and now you will always know it is there.

Good luck.

It is possible something may be wrong with the monitor, Who istalled it, Is it in any way pressed in, or in a tight spot where it may be twisting, These monitors are very sensitive to the touch, so if the case is in any way twisted this will show weird lines when on. Kind of like when the monitor is on and you touch it with your fingers. Make sure the casing is not tightened too much, or check for any twisting in the monitor itself. Check with the installer to make suere there is no problems with the install.

THANK YOU for chimming in! Cant beleive that so many people have this same screen and wouldnt take a min to say anything at all about theirs! I have mine to the harness right now, wonder if thats the problem as yours was. Might try to redo that tonight and see what happens! Thanks again

I have noticed occasional wavy lines, but nothing too big.

I'm sure it has to do with the wiring.

NAZAR..tired PM'ing you but your mb has been full.

what / can you do anything about the 7001 I bought from you? I tried everything that would make a difference and nothing worked. I changed the ground 3 times and have tried 2 different video cables as well. The picture still has those white waves when ever its on, it has to be something with the LCD. Can send it back for another one since its having these problems and everyone else I emailed or PM'd that also has the 7001 said they dont have this problem with theirs, that their picture is perfect! My email is kev328ci@bellatlantic.net if thats better than PM's for you. Let me know ok! Thanks...Kev
