from the numbers though the id max does seem like it would be the choice to go with. but there are other subs out there that are just like that but there not recommended for anything else other than competition ya know what i mean. you can go out and the RFL, Kicker has there Solo X, and you cant forget about the the Jackhammer. those three subs are competition subs and they just wont hold up for everyday use because thats not what they are meant for.

i looked on the id max website and they even say that sub is a competition sub. there is a difference. i am personally a kicker fan and always have been i happen to have a 10 inch l7 in my z. money not being an issue here but there is a reason why i dont have a solo x because subs like that aren't meant for the everyday abuse.

but it sounds like alot of people here swear by this sub and if thats the case i shall purchase one and find out for myself. hell if anything i hope you guys are right for real.

so this is not a cap on that sub at all guys i just want to bring that out there but it just seems like other subs like that are strictly for competition. i will buy one very soon and try it out. thanks for the suggestion.

the solo-x in a daily application , with the correct net space , tuned at 35-38 with rms sound pretty good

it will hold up good in the above

#1 DON'T buy the subs from crutchfield....they are WAY overpriced when you can get the same products for sometimes $200 less elsewhere. Crutchfield is great for dash kits, specific wiring accessories and harnesses and such, but i would not buy head units/subs/components from them.

EDIT: For example: Kenwood DDX8019 - ~$1100 Crutchfield. Got mine for $900 with a free ipod cable with an online rebate at onlinecarstereo.com

#2 JL makes top notch products don't get me wrong, but as others mentioned they are a bit too proud of their work. I've heard the FI Q and the Image Dynamics subs in several different applications, they were both amazing. If it were my money i'd buy two FI Q's for the price of your one W7 and set your car alarm off.

It is worth mentioning though that through Crutchfield you get the manufacturers warranty.....through most other online stores, you get NO manufacturers warranty.
