Default Replacing Bose headunit with Kenwood DNX7100, Install?

I been reading for hrs and hrs and am really confused now. I read some things that say that if you have a Bose than the install is different. You would have to do extra things and get extra stuff or your system will not sound as good or you will hear "hissing" noises. I just want to make sure its done right and that no corners are cut. Can someone please clear somethings up for me if you can. I currently have a Bose and am planning on just replacing the head unit.

1. Do I need a Pac OEM-2? http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...oem2&i=127OEM2

2. Or do I need a factory amp interface? http://www.millionbuy.com/scooea4.html

3. Would the regular wire harness work fine or would I need a different one or something extra because I have a Bose?

4. Am I going to need to do a amp bypass?

I seen guides on non Bose
https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-video/278145-avic-d3-install-guide.html
http://www.*********.com/zwiki/Head_Unit_Installation

but where are the install guides with Bose at?

This one suggest I need a pac oem-2

Some places make it sound tricky...

Run to Wal-Mart and pick up a Scosche wiring harness. Wire it with the corresponding colored wires on the headunit's wire harness, plug in to both sides, and you're done.

What year is your Z by the way?

the right way to do this is take the time and go buy urself some amps, speaker wire, and get all new speakers....just upgrading ur HU isnt going to really help sound quality it may only make it worse

Alright, all you need is the harness, which is readily available.

You will have to ground the wire from the headunit's harness to a chassis ground.

VERY simple tho.

May I ask where you picked up your DNX7100 from? I've been searching for it, but I don't feel like paying $1050+ for Crutchfield.

Really depends on what unit you get. If you get a cheap quality hu then its going to sound cheap 99 out of a 100 times. But if you get a quality hu then most of the time it will sound clearer and better than the stock hu. Adding after market components will only make it even better.

^^^ The DNX7100 has EXCELLENT sound shaping and EQ options, along with great sound output quality.

for the guys that have this unit installed, can you tell me what audio settings you have it on? i have a g35 that had the bose system. i swear it doesnt sound as loud and the bass isnt as hard as the stock. im sure i have something set wrong but dunno what. other than that i love this hu. i have the kenwood bluetooth unit and pac steering controls, dont remember what they were called, and the ipod vid cables. i wouldnt think i needed additional parts to make it sound like it should. and what is this hissing issue? thanks for any help.

The hiss is because you are trying to integrate into the Bose system.
