Highs kinda clashing together?
Hey guys My current setup is dls 6.2 iridium's in bings custom kicks, dls amp, audio control dqx eq. and z2 headunit. Ive had a few guys around OKC tune it but its still not exactly where i want it. When the music is soft or right before a electric guitar hits or the loudest part of the song it sound perfect for me. But once the loud part hits it sounds as if it clashes together and kinda cuts out on clarity. I dont know much about tuning etc. just anybody have any ideas that might be able to help me trouble shoot it and get this thing tuned a little better? thanks.

input selector = out
gain=2/3's up give or take a bit
Hp frequency = 70
degree of phase = 0 i have no idea what this is.
Lpfreq. =40 as low as it goes
then at the end the in out button is OUT.
Dont know if this is all right or wrong i didnt do any of it. These pics are not of the greatest quality as i cant figure out how to turn my flash off. Pics of my parametric 1 eq para 2 eq and xover on the audio control unit. The eq on the headunit is completely flat with it being a little messed with on the audio control. 33 bands so i didnt wanna take 33 pics lol but its all either 0 or +1 or 2 or -1 or 2 nothing big. high pass on the headunit is off as well. thanks for any help you guys can give me i know its hard to do without being here but im a complete noob to audio lol so anything could help me out
. thanks again here are the pics.

wait a second, sorry if i cant remember, what amps and whcih eq are you running? are you running it active or passive?
for one, you seem to have two high passes going on it...who did you have it tuned by?

okay try this for starters:
1. disable all filters on the amp, no high pass, no low pass, just run it full range,
2. on the dqx, flatten out all the graphic eq, just set everyhing to zero, set low/mid transision at 80hz. make sure you got the right rcas plugged into the right outputs, the ra20 should be plugged into the mid output.
3. using only the two band parametric eq:
band 1: 250 or 315hz, try both, bring down that band a decent amount, say -6 to -10, this brings down the resonance a bit, set a Q factor of say 1/2octave, in other words, pretty narrow.
brand 2: betwewen 3.15kz to 5khz, agai, play with it in between to see whcih sounds best, bring down that band -4 to -8 db, with a wide Q, say 2-3 octave, this helps ease the transition hump sometimes present where the midbass and tweeter xovers at.
also, make sure hte tweeter setting on the pasisve xover of the iridum is at Lo.
try that see what kind of difference it makes and we can go from there

ok thanks for the great advice guys i just got off work and im pressed for time got a family member in the hospital but i should be back on around 9 or so. I really appreciate it once again you guys are the best. Hopefully someday ill know a fraction of the audio knowledge you guys have. as soon as i get home im doing all this and ill post my results asap afterwards.
ive done everything yall told me. Now it seems like its not loud enough. I gotta quiet down my bass amp its overpowering my components now. wish i was like i was in highschool as long as music came out of it and there was bass i was happy. Now i hate bass but want loud clear music lol damn time changes people.
