i was either going to do 2 jl 10 w3v3's with a jl 500/1 or a single alpine 10 type x with a alpine 1000/1... both would be in a ZEnclosures box. what would sound better in the z? i want loud *** bass but i want the quality to be good at the same time thanks for your help in advance
this one is all yours doug
i personally think you can get a better sub for the 1000/1, idmax10 would immedaitely come to mind, louder than the type X, goes deeper and sounds better IMO

Despite all the claims of brand whoring and such, JL makes some decent amps and subs. Probably a bit overpriced, but if you shop around, you can find good deals. Sure, there is better out there, but there is also much, much worse.
I have a JL 500/1 powering a 10w6v2 in a small enclosure in the trunk of my G35 coupe and it is loud, tight and good sounding.

JL w3 - all around, daily subwoofer
ID Max - one of the best SQ/SPL subs made today.
A proper comparison would be the IDMax and a JL W7.
