Replacing rear speakers
Is replacing the rear speakers in the 350Z worth it? I don't hear much sound out of the rear speakers and I wonder if replacing them with better/louder sound would be worth it if they are located behind the seats?

It's the plastic coverng them that makes them sound poor.
EX: I'm driving around right now with the front door spearker covers removed, night and day difference!
I am in the process (it's been done before) of removing the plastic cover and re-covering with speaker maerial.
I have done my setup with both Polk SR's up front and all around, and did not notice much improvement (other than mentally knowing they were there) by adding the rears. I would say save your money and put it towards a better set of front comps and an amp.
You should either remove or replace the rears (that goes for the stock speakers or the Bose “upgrade”).
Just about any decent coaxial speaker will be better in the rear housings, but you probably will keep these at a minimal fade so that they do not interfere with your front staging.
