Default Box building question

Is there a general amount of minimum space from the bottom of the subwoofer's rear vented hole (bottom of sub) and the back wall of the enclosure?

Might sound confusing but for example, the Hertz Mille 2500 states there must be a minimum of 50 mm. Does this vary from sub to sub, or does it even matter with some subs.

My concern is picking a sub that will fit in an enclosure, but might not perform well due to this.

Im hoping the "audio gurus" lurking around in here can help me out.

That pole vent helps to cool the motor, so just make sure there is enough room for air to flow freely.

I think me and you are on the same page, i didnt know that the back wall of the enclosure (opposite to the wall where you mount the sub) is considered the "enclosure floor".

The Hertz Mille 2500, as i stated earlier, required a minimum of just under 2 INCHES! So that got me thinking and second guessing myself.

Thanks for the input guys, if anyone else has any kind of input or knowledge on the issue it would be greatly appreciated
