Default what to do, what to do...

i have been doing my install for a while now, and have installed my amps, sub, and sound deadening, as well as ran all of the wires, and fabricated the spacers for my speakers. needless to say, i am almost done.

my dilemma is as follows:
i was going to mount my crossovers, when i noticed that there were 4 input terminals as well as 4 output ones. i have never seen anything like this. i went to the manual and saw that it is because some people like to run an amp solely for tweeters. well, since i ran one twisted speaker wire through the door, and used up both channels on my nine.2 amp, what do i do about wiring my crossover??? i dont think that splitting each of the two wires into 2 (total of 4) would be very secure, but it seems like the only thing to do...

any help would be appreciated!

The components are bi-ampable (or bi-wirable). There should be a jumper (or jumpers) inside the crossover that you can move to specify if you are only using 1 input or both. If not just use short jumper wires. What components are you running?

Here's the description I found:
New for 2008! Redesigned SAC line, now with an upgraded Cal25 tweeter and redesigned crossover, enabling better efficiency and bi-amping.

If the pic above is indeed your crossover, it looks like there are 5 total possible jumpers. The one all the way to the left appears to be the tweeter attenuator.

If you can take some close up pics of some board in the xover and of the labeling on the cover, maybe we can help a bit better.

basically, what i want to know is how to wire one wire with two parts (neg and postive) to these 4 inputs. any help would be appreciated.

I would just run the wire from your amp to the woofer inputs and run 2" jumper wires from the woofer to the tweeter inputs and call it a day. Just be mindful of the impedance ratings of the tweeter and woofer.

by jumper wire, do you mean just a short piece of speaker wire? similar to how i wired my sub in parrallel?

and anyone else have an alternative idea?

this is one of those situations that i wonder... "what would bing do?"

and regarding the impedance...

it says the speakers run at 4 ohms respectively. i have a nine.2 which runs at eithe 2 or 4 ohms.

would wiring it in parrallel not work, as that would give me a 2 ohm load and series would give me 8?

make sense?

since i am only supplying about half of the max handeling of the speaker, would 2 ohms be bad for the speaker???

need to make sure before i ruin something...

Just get a little amp solely for the tweeters. If your gonna do it, you might as well do it.

I really wish I could take a look at your crossover and/or manual for this set. I see jumpers on the board in your pic, but I can't make out what the ones near the OUTPUT array are labeled with.

I have a hard time believing that Rainbow makes a set that can ONLY be bi-amped. Not only that, I can't find any sites that show a round crossover for a Rainbow set. Do you know how old these are?

But to answer you question about resistance - running your comps at 2 ohms won't damage the drivers. What it will do is almost double your THD, but that will be negligible with your eD amp since it's a very clean amp to start with. But this has a lot to do with how the crossover was designed.

the speakers are new, and the line was introduced at the end of 2007.

i will try and take better pictures later this evening. and about the bi-amping, the manual does say that you can either bi-amp it or not, it just doesnt tell me how.

can you tell me anything else about these jumpers?

what would happen if i spliced both wires into 2 ends? there is one diagram that shows one wire split into two going into the input.
