Look at the bright side, I bet your poll is getting more responses than you thought.

It's not my poll. I asked this question regarding the OP's question:

What makes it a stupid question?

Nuckinfutz just because you run whatever does not give you the authority to belittle another person for asking a question. It was a good question and if you honestly can tell me that their are no differences or benefits of running a sound system active versus running a sound system passive I feel terribly bad for any of your customers.

Mission accomplished, I was just having a rough day, and wanted to see how many people I could pi$$ off. All done, I feel a little better now. And Kwame, as far as you go, you guys aren't very competent either. Whoever John, or Jon is @ Z-1, is the reason I bought my engine from IPP, so start at home before you worry about my customers. I wasn't belittling anyone, I was simply stating my thoughts, not like it mattered anyway.

Lol, now I am really worried about your customers. I can tell your confused from your previous posts and this further proves that. First of all, their is no John or Jon at our shop. Secondly, we do not currently, have never previously and don't ever plan on ever selling engines. We are strictly a mail order parts company. Perhaps you need to speak with someone at Z1 Motorsport in Georgia. We are Z-1 Performance in New York, we have a no affiliation with Z1 Motorsport and have been in existence before them. Honestly, grow up.

I'm not so sure you've pissed people off as much as you've made yourself out to be a fraud.

You insinuate you understand the difference between active and passive audio systems by claiming to run an audio/ accessory business (although you don't need knowledge of the OP's subject to run an audio shop so perhaps you feel the need to compensate for your lack of knowledge by telling us your occupation rather than answer the questions put to you). You post that you think the OP's question is stupid, but can't back up why.

And by declaring "you guys aren't very competent either" makes me think you understand your own incompetence.

WOW, didnt mean to start a pissing match here, just was courious as to how many people take the time (if they even care) to learn all that is involved with putting together an active sound system in there Z. I am VERY new to car audio but I am putting in the effort to learn as much as I can. When I go to DYI Mobile Audios forum it blows me away with some of the topics discused. Some would say get your car audio from Best Buy, have them install it and all is good, which is fine if thats what pleases you, but i want a bit more than that myself, and the more I learn the more I realize there are better audio systems to be had without spending a whole lot more money if you take the time to do searches and learn. That is why I asked the question to get an idea what path members are going, turns out more members are going active than I would have thought, because you dont see it talked about much on this forum.

Good points. Their are a few of us on here that can be considered true audiophiles. Some of us can be found not only on here but also DIY, ECA and ICIX forums.

Some might say the Z isn't the best platform for a good quality sound system but whatever. I say work with what you have. There is definitely an abundant amount of information to be found on how to create a pretty bad *** setup if you spend some time in this sub-forum.

I'm currently systemless in the Z, but as for my DD, I'm both. Active in the sub (obviously) and passive in the everything else. I stayed passive just because I figured it would keep my speakers healthier longer.

I, however, was wrong, and my infiniti 5 1/4's blew out after just under two years, which is a whole bunch of ********... whatever.

I initially tried to go active and bi-amped my fronts, but I made a mess out of it and my installer was not as competent as I thought so in the end I went even dumber and put comps all around in order to waste even more money.
