Question JVC Headunit Losing Components

I recently bought and had installed a JVC KW-AVX800 headunit and added a JVC bluetooth adapter, i-pod adapter and sirius satellite decoder and receiver. The radio works fine for a few days and then the sirius disappears from the source screen on the headunit and the bluetooth and i-pod stop working (no sound).

I called JVC and confirmed the components are daisy chained correctly and the headunit is wired to a constant hot. Can anyone help me figure out how to make this stop happening? i am tired of ripping the dash apart every 3 days.

Also, does anyone know if the i-pod control should bring up playlists or let you search by artist? mine just lets me random or scroll alphabetically 1 song at a time.

Let us know if you resolve this. I have this HU as well although I haven't connected any add-ons to it yet. I think the only one I will is the BT adapter but I'd like to know if you find the solution.

Honestly, sounds like one of your components is foo bared. I would start eliminating which one. If you think it's the sirius add-on, take it out for a few days and see if the problem goes away. If it does, return it and claim warranty on it. It's very likely that if one is messed up, they all can be effected by it since they're daisy chained.

Spoke with the installer the other day. He feels that the sirius adapter is bad and is causing the other components to fail. JVC just updated models so we are waiting for the new model adapter to come in. I can plug the i-pod into the USB port and it plays, but none of the file info is displayed in a readable format - just put it on random and see what I get. Anyone have any idea how many mp3s you can get on a memory stick? I could use that to get by until the adapter is in at the end of the month.

I have a 4GB thumb drive plugged into USB and that gets me about 500 mp3s. Most if not all of my mp3s are >=192kbps or VBR. According to the manual, the deck will support up to 10gb of plugged in storage. If you're thinking of using the SD Card slot, that will only support normal SD cards, so that gets you 2gb max. USB is the way to go with this deck. The interface is very good as far as seeing the folders you have and what songs are in each. I've been very happy with this HU so far.

thanks Ziggy - I'll load up a zip drive and try that until my part shows up.
