Default Bose sub keeps cutting out

I've tried searching on this topic now for the past 20 minutes but really can't find a good keyword.

I have the bose system in my roadster Z and it keeps cutting out. Like it makes little pop noises then the sub go out. It's really annoying. Anyone have the same problem or know how to fix this? thanks.

It could be the sub amp, I had the same problem. The way I tested it was taking up the sub and amp but leaving them connected and hit the amp

May sound silly but the bass would cut off/on every few times I hit it. When I replaced it with another amp it worked fine.

From my understanding, the Bose system in the Z has some quality issues just as you are describing and it usually does turn out to be the amp. Maybe you could find one cheap in the classifieds or on ebay, but otherwise it might be wiser to replace the system.

damn, i hope not. This is my daily driver. I really wanted to keep the stock system in there. I just passed 60k miles so i don't think i have a warranty for it.

I bought a Bose amp from a forum member for $25 shipped. If you can find it that cheap, its definitely worth the gamble.
