Default Aftermarket Headunit - Bose Adapter Harness Needed?

I was wondering how many of you guys are running a converter harness for the OEM Bose amp. The one that connects to the Bose amp and has RCA connectors on the other end.

Some people say you need it some say you don't. Any people having problems without one installed?

I just installed the new Kenwood DNX8120 using the Metra 70-7551 harness. It seems to work great. No converter used. The only time I have heard anything "odd" was when I wasn't playing music and the car wasn't running. If you're ultra-**** about your system, this could be a problem I guess, but it's fine for me.
