I just installed an alpine ida-x100 HU. Everything works except for the clarity of the radio. I think I got 1 FM station.

I connected the antennae plug (black male to female) in the back of the HU, is there something else I need to do? Thanks in advanced.

You most likely did not hook up the antenna power remote turn on. Our vehicles use an amplified antenna and if it does not get turned on you will get bad reception.

You probably did not connect the blue power antenna wire.

 

I pulled everything out this morning. Everything was connected (I re-checked the solder job everything was good).

What I did though:

I put all the black ground wires together and soldered them together at the tip. Then I grounded it my car. It gets more FM stations but still very weak signal. Any help?

 

Argh.. I've had enough of ripping out my dash. I don't know... everything seems to be "okay"... still, very weak radio signal. Dammit!

 

its the blue antenna wire.. trust me.. there are two blue wires.. one of them is the antenna power wire.. and it MUST be connected

no.. you need to connect the attenna power wire on the harness to the antenna power wire of the radio harness

No... not yet. Gonna look at it again when I install my subs soon. Argh... so far ipod has been working overtime :/
