Hello there!! I've searched the forums up & down for an answer to this weird Bose problem, but no avail. I have the Bose system in my 2003 touring Z. When I'm stopped, the radio/cd sounds great, loads of thump. But as soon as I move the car forward/reverse, the volume gets LOWER. I know the system uses AudioPilot, but isnt the system supposed to INCREASE sound from the radio while cabin noise increases? Why does my AudioPilot do the opposite?!? Someone Please Help!!

If I remember correctly, the 2003 Bose version in the Z has an “AudioPilot-like” feature that is automated and cannot be toggled ON/OFF.
…As Silverstone-Z point out: It’s a failure that other Bose owners experience. His advice (“If you have the funds available, do yourself a favor and swap out the headunit for something nicer.”) is what you should do.
Your Bose H/U is “broken,” and it’s not worth fixing. Your best solution is replacing the Bose H/U along with the rest of the cheap Bose stuff (the front component speakers and the cheap SubW and its amp). You can leave the rear speakers in place and not connect these, or replace them if you want rear-fill.
When replacing a Bose CES, it's best to replace "all of it" instead of "parts of it." Anything you buy (and you can go cheap) will sound much better than the Z’s Bose “upgrade.”

You could have a problem with the microphone for your AutoPilot system. There are some TSB's for it, but they do refer to overboosted base.
Google for: TSB 02-111a. I'd post the link, but apparently we block links to other 350Z sites.
Your Bose system is fine, it's just not something you should try to act tough with though.
