Default ipod/aux in on a 2008 base

Hello all, I just got a 2008 z. I'm trying to figure out how to get my ipod to play without using a fm transmitter... i looked around and everything seems to pertain to the bose HU. Is there a cost effective method of getting decent sound quality that doesnt involve a 100+ dollar adapter or a new HU?

there is no easy way to hook a IPOD up to the stock Z system.. Bestbuy sells IPOD adapters for $150 or so.. but honestly, I'd just get a new deck with IPOD controls or aux in..

ah... thanks. i looked around for a long time and couldnt really find anything. some people say that hardwiring FM modulator between the HU and antenna works quite well though. Is that feasible/practical/possible?

you'd get a better sound for sure and stronger signal.. but it wont be as good as having a direct line into the radio..

Neo doesn't make a product for a 2008 Z. They claim it's coming soon.

One dealer had my Z apart on Saturday in an attempt to install a USA Spec PA11-N1S adapter. Although they stock iSimple they claim that iSimple fail so often the refuse to install them.

I don't know exactly what changed in the 2008 - or if it's the combination of BlueTooth and or Factory Satellite Radio or some change in the Bose happened, but after hours and hours of research for what works in the 08 I'm still googling a goose egg.

I am looking for what works for a 370Z since there doesn't appear to be an aftermarket solution for the 08.

USA-Spec is your answer. I have an 08 base with it for my ipod and it works great. Second car i have used the USA-spec and couldnt be happier. Nice things is you can use the standard ipod plug so you can charge and play music or use RCAs. Or you can hook something else up to the RCAs. Look no further then USA-Spec

I spent two hours at Car Toys in Beaverton while they screwed around with the install of the USA-Spec unit I mentioned and then put it back together and said the harness was different and gave me my money back.

I think the USA-Spec works on a factory Nissan radio, which is what I'm guessing you have. Mine has the Bose radio.

I may have a bead on a solution; will report back after it I determine that it works.

I was responding to the original poster since it sounds like he is looking for an Ipod adapter for a non-bose factory stereo. Yes i dont have the bose system even still i think the USA-spec still works. It took my stereo guy about 20 minutes to install mine and i have no problems at all.

I did hijack the thread - and I'm glad the USA-Spec works in your Z. I wish it would have in mine, but I saw the harness and it does not match up.
