Default Worst rattling..Where do you get it?

I barely ever listen to my subs at 50% but once in a while I like to crank it up a but. I was just curious if the places my Z rattles isnt unique in any way...Heres hoping it isnt.

I usually get it on my rear view mirror the most, the bass usually just makes it go limp but even at low levels it rattles...it drives me nuts.

The hanger hooks behind each seat..I took those out, so it doesnt do it anymore.

Last, the rear bumber on the passanger side, right behind the rear fender.

I don't have much rattle that I can hear and the only thing that has sound deadening is my doors. Then again, all I'm running is 6.5" AVI separates up front with one JL 10W6v2 and 860W of power total. I crank the sh*t out of my system as much as it will go but no rattle even from the outside. Maybe when I replace that 10W6 with a 12W6 and a new box it'll be a little different but I doubt it since I plan on using HushMat for the rest of my car when I do that. What are you running in your Z anyway?

Default Rattles

I get some serious ressonating around the forward portion middle of my drivers door...

Also the portion of the seatbelt that can rotate and locks into place rattles like hell on my drivers side.

Also the rear quarter panel drivers side does too, but I figure this is b/c I have installed and removed the piece too much, I am going to get new fasteners before I reinstall it after this teardown.

I have one JL 10w7 and a set of JL ZR component speaker series and a total of 800 watts consisting of a JL500/1 and a 300/2. I dynomated the entire rear of the car and both doors, I then applied a 1/4' of sound absorbing cell foam. I seem to get rattles below my rear bumper, my license plate shakes bad and I get bad rattle in my diver side rear quarter panel. I must say though, this system sounds louder then any other previous system I have had before and at one time i had close to 3400 watts with a MA-Audio set up. This JL equipment is first class and I could not be any more happy.

This annoys the **** out of me!!!! And there doesn't seem to be any fix for it either.

I also get rattles from the hatch area, thats about it. I was getting rattles from somewhere in my center dash near the 3 gauges, but I finally discovered what was going on: my Alpine HU's snapped in trim ring was rattling like mad, so I put the Metra supplied one in, and that problem is gone.

I have a ticking or clicking noise on driver's side door panel center. If I push in it will stop for a while. I took off the panel about a year ago & retaped all the wires and checked out everything else. But the sound is still there. Too lazy to take it off again. Also rear view mirror makes noise in the colder part of the year. I think it has to do with the plastic expanding & contracting.

The last noise is the most recent. It sounds like its from the nismo exhuast or from the heat shield. I haven't been able to get it to the dealership while its in prime rattle mode.

For those with issues of center rearview mirror rattling...check the little wire cover that goes from it to the headliner...that was the culprit on my car. I put some "rattle be gone" on it and its fixed.

My drivers door cup (the plastic area on the door panel that has the window switches etc.) rattled on my car...it was on the rear most area where the cup for your hand goes...I put some rattle be gone there and ta da!

NOTICE: rattle be gone is a made up term...the stuff I am speaking of is a foam approx 1/16 inch thick w/ adhesive back. it can be cut and stuck to things. I got it when I installed the Nissan IPOD adapter to my mom's FX35.

well it seems the only common place is the rear view mirror...other then that we all get rattling in slightly different areas...hmmm.

As for my set up, Im running 2x10" kicker comp crvs in the rear of the car.

I occasionally get rear view mirror rattles which I plan on fixing with DIY thread on here...

Only other rattle I get is bottom part of the hatch that is right behind passenger's head by B pillar... that thing rattles even with the system off.... I will have to add lil sound deadening there this weekend.
