Default My New System

I finished my stereo-install today. Start to finish it took 5 hours.

Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD
Zenclosure Type S Box
Zenclosure door speaker spacers
JL Audio 10W3 10" Sub
JL Audio 300/2 Amp for Door Speakers
JL Audio 250/1 Monoblock amp for Sub
Infinity 6.5" speakers for Doors
4 gauge power/ground to distribution blocks
8 gauge power/ground lines to amps
16 gauge remote wire
2 sets of RCA cables sub/front doors
16 gauge speaker wire from door speakers to amp
6 Coronas

I'm very happy with how everything turned out, and the install was pretty easy thanks to the DIY posts for various things. Also many thanks to Lsmith9523 for answering many wiring questions!

I will post some final pics tomorrow.

I do need to tint the windows, however you can see the amps from the windshield too

I need some kinda cover or something.

Lightbulb Looks...

well done. +++ on the tint. Grab something black to cover it up from the front view and perhaps an aftermarket alarm if you do not already use one.

Enjoy.

I think the amps should be stealth (visible only when you want this), and certainly no ugly wiring should show.

Other than that... nice installation.

Its alot harder then u think to make them "visible only when you want this". I had to make a amp rack from scratch to get this effect.

Looks good although I would of installed the amps the opposite way so you can stuff all the wiring down right behind the rack. I have the same box made for two tens, just waiting to get home from Iraq to install my system lol.

Oh and you should try and make a cover for the back of the amp to cover the wires..doesn't have to be fancy, just 1/8in wood or something covered in black carpet...just an idea..Im trying to figure some stuff out for mine as well

i installed them like he did by accident.. didn't notice it till i went to install it in the car.. because i drilled the amp rack on the wider side.. however.. its really been much more accesible during troubleshooting with it the direction it is.. you can do it while sitting in the car and right next to the radio.. especially while tuning and adjusting the gain on the amp

The JL amps have a few adjustment dials including gain, and with them being mounted in this direction, it is very nice to be able to make changes between the head unit and amps from the driver seat.

Most amps do...but you usually dont have to change those often enough for installing amps backwards to be a real perk. Just saying...

Priorities
Wires Showing>close dials

I'm getting my final (hopefully) installation done on the 28th. Getting the following:

Kenwood KFC-C-17 speakers Front, rear deck
Kicker CompVR 12" Dual Voice Coil Sub
Eclipse XA5000 5-ch amp
StreetWires Power Station 1-Farad Capacitor

to go along with AVIC D3 and Pioneer 6 disk changer.
I told them I didn't want anything to be visible from the rear hatch like the OP's setup, but with a 12" sub the installer said the only way this would be possible would to get a custom behind the sit box made and hide the rest in the cubbies.
So he's going to create a V shaped box and place it where you guys have your amps located to save me some trunk space for groceries and beer (mostly beer).
Other than a black grill cover and darker tint, any suggestions on how to keep prying eyes away from my sh*t?
