Big 3 upgrade question
#3
well kinda....the big three is upgrading the ground and power wires in your charging system
Definition: the "Big Three" upgrade means improving the current capacity of three cables: 1) alternator positive to battery positive, 2) battery negative to chassis, and 3) engine ground to chassis. Some people replace the factory wiring; others add additional cables to the factory wiring. This instruction is to add cables to existing OEM wiring.
however if you don't mind pm or email me anything you got in the grounding system I plan on making my own (ordered the filters btw)

A grounding kit is only two parts to the "Big 3", there is no wire going from the alternator + to battery +. Also, all grounding kits are 4 gauge or smaller. Ideally what you want is 1/0 gauge for your big 3.

Take a look at this website and see if your layout is any different. It also tells you the lengths of each wire. This is also where I got my grounding kit from.

Duh......I even read that you bought that kit. I thought about it, but I love working on my car. I have been thinking about buying one, but then getting bigger wires, but that would just bump up the cost so I'd rather see one built then make my own and post it.

Ok so I am confused. It is called the Big3 because you are replacing only 3 wires with bigger ones/adding to the existing ones and it does the job its suppose to with no problems. Why do these kits you guys keep pulling up show 5-6 diff cables that are connecting to places not used in the stock setup? Why would you do 6 cables when 3 can do the job and look less tacky? IMO ground wires in colorful variations running all over the place isn't much of a visual mod. So why?
I could be completely off so correct me if Im wrong...
