Big 3 upgrade question

Why would you install a grounding kit before a big3 upgrade or even at all. It is kind of counter-productive considering your main ground at the battery negative hasn't been changed or modded in any way. I guess I am just under the impression that the Big3 would more than suffice for a good ground and would not require all that messy extra wiring regardless of the applications and with or without a sound system considering its still a ground either way. I mean at least 2 of the wires in that kit don't even touch a negative side of any type of power source..actually one them connects the backside of the plenum to the front side of the engine. Thats just retarded. If it were me...just do the Big3 and you'll be grounded more than enough.
