I'm going to be purchasing the FI Q12, but I need to know what would be the best amp to pair up with this sub. Its going in a ported 2.27 cubic foot enclosure. Currently I have a Memphis 16-MC1500D...

Contact 350zspl and see what kind of price he can get you on a Sundown SAE-1000D. This is actually the amp FI will recommend that you use.

Like I said before if tuned correctly that amp is good I recomend that if you get this amp set the gain low....you won't need to set it that high with that sub anyways

 

I went with a MD1D US amps merlin, no regrets, on a q10 wired at 1ohm. Also got alpine pdx 2.150 for my fronts, again awesome amp. I almost went with an Eclipse XA2000, i've heard great things about it, and has same technology as the PDX, i was just able to get the pdx for the same price. They have the Eclipse XA4000, which would give you 4 channels.
