i was wondering can anyone give me some advice on whats the cheapest way with good quality i can listen to my ipod in my z? The stock sound quality is good enough for me, i dont want to upgrade i jus want to know a way i can get my ipod in my car w/o spending so much money. i am aware of FM transmitters but i was looking for something differnt so i can get better sound quality. i read a post a couple days ao about Aux input but that didnt help much... Help me out since you guys have prolly gone through this, you would be more helpful rather than someone working at a store that doesnt know much about this car..

07+ some models have the Aux imput..... I know the base and the nismo do not. Anything older than the 07 will not have the imput and you will have to buy a new head unit.... You should do it anyway because the stock system sucks...

No Z's have an AUX input. There is a ton of information about attaching an iPod to your Z, in the Audio Forum. My opinion though: buy a new head unit.

 

I recently went to best buy for my iPod cable. They dont even sell them anymore...why? because all the new head units come with them.. get a new head unit - you wont regret it - you will have TONS of music at your fingertips and it will look and sound better than stock..

hmm about the head unit, so i will get a little bit better sound with new head unit even with stock speakers?

Look... here is what came up on Advanced Search in the Audio & Video forum when I typed in "Stock and ipod", selected titles only, and checked Boolean down at the bottom. That means that it will only bring up threads that have "Stock" AND "ipod" in the title. There are a few other variations you could try, but you see what I am getting at. Discrete mathematics logic FTW.

Again though, I suggest a new Head Unit, which will greatly improve the sound of the system, even with the stock speakers. Check out any of the new Alpine head units, they are great.
