Just a Q for the Audio/Video Gurus. I live in the Middle East and Kenwood offered different units for that region. I am looking to buy a DVD/Nav unit same as the DNX 8120.

Over here Kenwood offered the DDX 8032: (http://ae.kenwood.com/Car_Entertainm...tems/DDX8032BT) and the KNA-G431 (for navigation).

Why I need the US version and not the one offered here? It is much cheaper to buy it from the US than here (DNX 8120 is enough for DVD/Navi, cost around $1100 whereas the two local units will cost $2400).

Is there any possible way to integrate the local Garmin mapping into the US version?

You will also run into the DVD region issues to play DVD's along with the mapping issues. The mapping issue is an easy fix the DVD region is not.

 

I download DVD's over the internet and record them on my PC. Won't they work in the unit?
