How to vinyl A-Pillar
Hey guys, i've just completed doing my A-pillar tweeter pod. It's ready to be upholstered with vinyl. Is there a particular type of vinyl that i should get (type of backings)? Can someone tell me what is the most effective way of doing it?
at the moment, i usually upholster MDF wood with adhesive spray, hot glue the edges and pull the vinyl to make it conform to the shape...
is this what you guys would recommand?

dpending on the shape of hte A pillars, if you got too big of a curve, espeically concave, its going to be very tough to vinyl wtih any kind of vinyl and make it not wrinkle over time...
but its a normal shape relatively, you can honestly vinyl it with anyhitng, doesnt matter if its super stretch or not, the key of courese, the glue you use, anyhting thats not realy contact adhesive (yellow colored stuff) is going to rapidly break down in the heat and fall off...so i suggest contact cement for sure.

I recommend Helmeprene glue as it will not break down the backing of the vinyl. There are other glues as well that work with vinyls. Dupont and 3M both make excellent adhesives for this type of job. Spray glue in a can is a great way to have the vinyl peel off in about a week or less.
