Screwed!!!
Actually I have completed my design on attaching my Passport 8500 to the mirror and eliminating the suction cups. Cost - about $5.00 in parts and looks very professional.
But I am missing one critical piece. A longer screw that goes into the mirror bracket. Does anyone know the screw size. It looked like a 10/32 but that didn't work.
Thanks

I've been to Home Depot and Autozone with no luck at either store. I'm going to try another hardware store this weekend. However, if someone knows this screw size it would sure help.
Thanks

If anyone want to know the screw size, it comes closest to a 10/24. In metric sizes its a 5 millimeter but the standard .8 pitch threadsize does not work. It looks like its a 1.00 or 1.25 pitch which nobody carries.
However I went with a 10/24 by 3/4 inch and it worked fine allowing me to attach a bracket to support my radar detector directly to the mirror. It works great now I just need to hard wire the detector. It looks better than what Zipp sells for their corvettes for $5.00 in parts.
Alot better the a C-clamp around the mirror which one design had.
