I am pretty sure they would be talking about the Red, Green, Blue, and Composite-Sync wires on connector B104 (connects to the Nav).

15: Blue
17: Ground (not needed; can be obtained elsewhere)
18: Red
20: CSync
21: Green

thanks, so I'm assuming you have to splice those wires? what do they mean by "cutting"? not cutting completely, just splicing in to them?

I would assume it would be a process similar to "cutting" all 4 wires and routing the NAV signals from "the cut" to the Tuner and then routing the Tuner back to "the cut", and then on to the screen.

Has anything new developed from this? I am VERY interested to see pictures and more importantly video of a completed install using either swoobyz or the AVElectronics units. Anyone out there have it??

Default trying to decide

Well, I got the new XBOX yesterday for the in-car PC, but I am trying to decide on how to view the video. Do I attempt to splice into the existing stock nav screen using swoobyz or the AVElectronics or... do I buy a seperate screen and use FM modulation??? decisions decisions... ;-)

Default Nix'd

Well, I said "screw it" to the XBOX idea and just went with a Clarion VRX935VD instead. The whole XBOX thing was just going to be too much of a pain in the a$$, IMHO considering the only real reason I wanted to do it was to be able to watch DVD's and listen to MP3's which the Clarion unit does VERY well

Anyone know someone in Nissan Parts?

I would also need male/female versions of the connectors used by any other manufacturer that the kit wants to be installed on, but getting Z connectors is the higher priority.

Would this work?

Default NavwithTV

Hey all,

Anyone go through with the NAVwithTV option in order to get their stock nav display to play DVD's? I was quoted 299 for the unit? Is this correct?

Wondering why no one else had suggested this yet - why screw around with re-wiring and bypassing your stock NAV unit, other than to say, "Hey, look! My NAV Unit plays DVD's!"

You can get a great res screen in a slide-out Alpine or similar head unit for anywhere around $1300-2000, play DVD Moveis, MP3's, CD's, etc.

I look at my NAV screen and have a hard time thinking it has either the res or color depth to play a movie well, and the stock DVD reader is no speed demon, either.

Aftermarket head unit displays blow the doors off anything you'll get short of yanking out that NAV unit you (and me) paid 2k for...
