Dont hate me please
I really did take time to look through 3-4 pages for this but i could not find the answer i was looking for.
I have a 2008 Z and i want to put a sub in the factory bose port but this audio tech at Fry's electronics said that it does not sound good (i don't know if he was speaking as a friend or someone on commission)
I have an Alpine PDX-600 amp so i'm going to need something that can handle it. Is there a 10" that can breathe, sound good and handle that much power?
I currently have a 12" Memphis M3 but that thing is blown and sounds like crap in my generic best buy box. I really want Polk Audio or a better Memphis but i would really like to hear personal experiences or someone who just knows what the hell they're talking about without trying to pressure me into buying something.
Please Z community, help a noob in distress

I wouldn't recommend putting a sub in the stock location either. I did a lot of research on free flow air subs for that set up and didn't find anything I thought was appealing or worth the price.
I recently did an install with a Wicked C.A.S. corner enclosure. It sounds great and allowed me to have a clean, stealth install (i.e. I can keep my trunk) and it fits perfectly. My only complaint was the price for the box, but it's worth it in the long run. Zenclosure makes a corner set up,but I think the Wicked C.A.S. box looks nicer and sounds better due to the angle it fires the sub. Here's a link to a review I wrote about it with pics.

Another benefit to this set up is you can use the factory sub location for other things. I put my amps there for instance, but you could also fit a nav system or something else there.
I hope this helps and you can make an informed decision on what you want to do.

What up Nate...look through this thread...

and formulate your own ideas on what you want to do with what you have. The Z is very unique with all of its "hidden" spaces. Be sure to post pics when your set up is complete.

it would cost me even more than $35 in raw materials to make a box identical to the zenenclosure....i would be curious as to how you accomplish this hehe
^ Maybe if he had all the materials, besides the wood. And those Zenclosure boxes are 99.00. Or find one on here for 50.00. You can buy just the glove box enclosure for 325 I believe and put your own sub in in
The subs that actually fit in that glove box enclosure are VERY limited. I know when it first came out there were only one or two subs you could use with it.
i have installed a dozen or so the wicked cas glovebox, and i can name the top of my head about a dozen subs that can fit, there should be overall...about 30-40 different sub models out there htat should fit, basically you need a sub that is around 5.6" or less to fit. not THAT hard to find
Nice THH. Very clean! As soon as I can afford it I will try to get the same system set up... All I need now is a new economy. Such that allows me to buy wants instead of needs.
