so i was loading CD's into the changer, and slot1 decided it was hungry, when i try to eject the CD it just stays in there, and i can't load anything into it because obviously there's a CD there, my question to you Z guru's is if my only choice is to completely dissasemble the dash and H/U to get to it or if there's some kind of trick I can pull to manage to get this SOB out....thanks in advance, and yes, i searched, found how to take out the console and dash, but no topic related threads

Common problem with all in dash cd changers in general. Unfortuantely 9 times out of 10, there is a broken belt or spring within the deck that is preventing the cd from being ejected. Parts can be expensive but the labour is a real kick to the junk. Buying a used deck or replacing it with an aftermarket one is almost always your best option. Repairing the deck is rarely financially beneficial.

Good answer... As you point out, repairing the device isn't a good option since it's expensive and the problem will return.

I prefer remote changers since they use a cartridge and are more reliable.

well, for whatever reason the problem fixed itself, but yes we are looking into something more reliable as I have personally had all of the problems mentioned in orgasm_donor's post, but for now this unit is doing it's job until i can find something that'll better suit my needs
