So you can update it through the SD card slot


Or something with getting the serial number

and i herd the only way to get the number is by taking is apart??

Are you talking about the Navigation map update or the software update?

You don't need the navi serial for that update, you just buy a new SD card with maps and stick it in and it works fine.

The Kenwood website probably makes you put in the serial number, but the download isn't tied to it. IIRC, the serial number is available from one of the Settings screens.

 

navi and software, i have the sd with the update and when i put it in nothing happens, any ideas?
