Please don't buy your resin from Home Depot. Its usually already old and 'stale' by the time it hits the shelves. Go to a fibreglass specialty store and get your matt and F/g resin and catalyst there. marine grade is always worth the extra money!
Also, you need to do it under fairly warm conditions. You do it in 40-50 degree weather then your stuff will never harden.
Another thing...you have never done this before right? It is somewhat of an art form. Before you start your project, please practice with some volume measurements to get the hang of things before you start just slamming this box together. Even after 17 years, I still learn new tricks and techniques all the time.

Depending on what kind of box your building, try to use as much wood as possible. Only use fiberglass where you need it.
Find some cheap material to use to stretch over your enclosure.
When you start to do the layers, remember to tear the fiber mat and overlap the pieces, dont lay a sheet down and cover it. Once you get the hang of it, you can add extra hardener to speed up the drying process. But be careful as it will get very hot if you add too much.
Find some decent cups or containers to mix the resin in, plastic cups in some cases will nearly melt apart after a cup or two of resin mixing with hardener. Take your time and try to make the surface as smooth as you can, it will save you time when you start to sand. Buy alot of tin foil to lay down over the area that you are going to fiberglass, this will depend on the enclosure that you are making. Here is a good list to start with:
1. Foil
2. Brushes (Those cheap ones are fine)
3. Fiberglass mat
4. Resin
5. Hardener
6. Gloves
7. Fabric
8. MDF for rings, enclosure sides etc...
9. Bondo or the green stuff
10. Rubber bondo spreaders
11. Sandpaper

Here is a quick peek at doing a fibreglass tub. It was done for my '95 Lexus SC400 last year.
Tub
Top frame which is removeable
MDF rings placed with stilts
Fleece wrapped and stapled
Two thick resin coats on top of the fleece
A relatively new procedure which I have been using for a couple of years. All 7 layers of fibreglass matt was done from the inside of the baffle - making the top piece uniform and much easier to sand. 7-layers underneath
icing...sanded and test fit
Painted and cleared top panel
Voila!

you can purchase the supplies online at http://www.uscomposites.com/
I have never personally used them, as there is a fiberglass supply shop local to me.. but lots of people use them.
