Question How do you pair an amp to a sub?

I've looked and i can't find anything on here or google. Could someone explain pairing and amp to a sub in regards to wattage, ohms, ect. I have an idea but I need some things clearified. Thanks.

lookin good, your planning on bridging the amp so its 300/1 right? i had my 2 channel 1400 watt amp bridged on a 1800 watt sub and that **** slapped hella hard!! man those JL amps are hella bread!

I assume you're going with a single sub? If so that is a good set up. 4 Ohm DVC wired to a 4 ohm mono load on the amp will produce the amps max power at a safe load and will be good enough for that sub.
