What do i need to install AVIC-F700BT into 2006 350z with bose and navigation. I want to keep the steering wheel controls and have read that i need they swi-ps from pac. What else is needed for the install. I want to keep the factory bose speakers

I installed mine into an 06 w/out base. I bought the nissan harness from crutchfield and soldered (w/ heat shrinking) to the pioneer harness. Everything is working perfect for me so far. Sorry, I dont have bose though so it will probably be a different kind of installation. There's an avicd3 install guide on the forum somewhere that helped me a lot with installation (d3 wiring harness set up is the same as the f700bt).

From what I heard, the swi-ps from pac is iffy. It works for some while it doesnt work with others. On the avic411 forums, a person called up pacs and they said they were in the process of creating a new set up for the new avic series HUs. I would look into that some more

good luck to u

have some questions myself, thought i would reuse this thread since its not quite Thread Necroing.

Was looking around and saw that Best Buy has these for 650 dollars. Is that a decent price?
Second, went to my local BB. To test the unit out.
So far i love everything about it. Except the infernal beeping everytime you select something. I spent a few minutes going through the settings menu but didnt find a way to shut this off. Honestly, i know im pushing buttons WTF do i need a beep each time i select something.
next, i have a track so base stereo, from what i read i need a specific wiring harness and a metra dash kit.
Do i need additional items to connect it with my ipod?
Do i need anything else to get satelite radio?
Same question to use steering wheel controls.

plan is to upgrade my stock door speakers later on. like when i save some more money.

with the wiring kit, do i need to solder at all? (hate doing that.)
I read one of the installers mentioned running a wire all the way to the back of the car to connect to reverse?
I know there is some combo of wires that i have to connect to allow video during movement/same with nav.

as for the price of the avic f700bt u can find it cheaper.

my question is, i have a 05 touring z with the bose 6 cd in dash cd changer but i dont have the factory GPS unit that goes in the top, can u install the avic in that portion? or do u have to remove the factory bose?

thanks

btw son of the mag dog you can get the pioneer premier F90BT for less than what u said u were going to buy the f700bt for.

gd damn thats a good price...
bought an itouch this weekend instead. but damn, might have to save for that.

FAIK it has to go in the headunit spot. The cubby above is too small and not deep enough. Some have put screens up there for a carputer though.
(my other path...)

btw, i answered a lot of my own questions by going to avic411 sound can be removed, but its a hack,
need an additional cable for ipod, same with wheel controls.
