Better the fuse than your eardrums. If it only blows when it's all the way up, then I wouldn't worry about it. Just don't turn it all the way up.

Is that really 2A? IIRC it was like a 10A on the back of the head unit...

Nah, almost all aftermarket radios come with 10A fuses. are u talking about the box with a fuse in it that comes attached to the harness on the D3, or your factory fuse box? If its your factory fuse box, slap a 10A in there, 2 amps is not nearly enough.

Uh...if the fusebox requires a 2 amp fuse then DO NOT PUT A LARGER VALUE IN THERE! There is a reason why its rated at 2 amps. The wiring may not support that size of fuse so you may see an unwanted fire.

Who installed the deck for you? It is quite possible that they took power from an incorrect source. I would make sure that you have a source that can support that kind of amperage. Straight to the battery is ideal but a 10 amp source from the fusebox should be fine.

True, never change the correct value. 2A doesn't sound like the correct value on a head unit with built-in amplifier though. Or maybe we all don't understand what power line OP is talking about (which sounds likely).

A 10A fuse on the back of the deck is called out by the Pioneer installation manual -- see page 10. I believe there is also a fuse for the reverse camera, probably not 10A, no idea what it is or should be.

Well, you have to figure that with amp, LCD screen, CD/DVD drive, losses, etc. that 10 Amps sounds a lot more reasonable than 2 Amps. 2 Amps at 12 Volts DC is just 24W.

Of course...that is not in contention here. Jamming a higher rated fuse in a lower rated spot can be potentially dangerous. Before doing such a thing, I ask that the OP be sure of what he is doing before something catches on fire. Time to visit an installer me'thinks!
